This bright and comfortable apartment in Pitigliano places cafés, restaurants, and artisan shops just outside your door, while the countryside of the Maremma — with its hiking trails, vineyards, and famous thermal hot springs — is only minutes away. With fast Wi-Fi, a dedicated workspace, and a flexible second bedroom/office, the apartment is ideal for remote workers, visiting scholars, or anyone looking to experience life in an authentic Italian village while exploring central Italy.
Many of our guests stay for several weeks or months, using the apartment as a comfortable base for remote work while enjoying the rhythm of life in a historic Italian village.

Everything you need for daily life is within walking distance, including supermarkets, pharmacies, cafés, restaurants, shops, and a hospital with an emergency room.
Pitigliano is an excellent base for exploring central Italy. Nearby destinations include:
• Lake Bolsena (30 minutes)
• the thermal hot springs of Saturnia (40 minutes)
• the medieval villages of Sovana and Sorano (10–15 minutes)
• Monte Amiata and its forests and hiking trails (45 minutes)
• the beaches and sailing towns of Monte Argentario (1 hour)
Larger cities such as Orvieto (45 minutes), Siena (1.5 hours), Florence (2 hours), and Rome (about 2 hours) are also easily reachable by car. The closest international airport is Rome Fiumicino.
A car is recommended for exploring the region, although daily life in the village can easily be managed on foot. Bus service connects Pitigliano to nearby towns and cities, and private car services are also available with advance arrangement.

Catherine was an amazing host from start to finish. Her instructions were clear, detailed, and made everything super easy, so I never had that stressful “wait, what do I do now?” moment. She and her family were incredibly warm and welcoming. They even invited me upstairs for dinner, which honestly says a lot about the kind of people they are. I was on a work-and-vacation trip and working night shifts, so I couldn’t take them up on it, but the gesture really made the place feel like home. The apartment was perfect for setting up a different kind of work office while getting to experience the town like a local. The town itself is absolutely charming and has a great local energy to it. The location was excellent, and I genuinely felt immersed in the local lifestyle. I tried the local restaurants, talked with people around town, and even caught a few sunset events. It felt less like staying in a rental and more like actually living there for a while. If you’re looking for a place that’s comfortable, authentic, and hosted by genuinely kind people, Catherine’s place is a no-brainer. I’d stay there again in a heartbeat.
